Reiki

Reiki is not a part of any religious affiliation.

Reiki is a practice of working with your own energy to clear the body of any blockages to bring forth healing. Reiki is for everyone. You do not need healing physically, mentally, or spiritually to gain benefits and energy from Reiki

"Rei" is translated from Japanese to English as spiritual, sacred, infinite power, or the soul.

"Ki" is translated to mean the unseen, atmosphere, or vital energy.

Put together they mean Universal Energy or Spiritual Energy.

Reiki comes from the Japanese culture and practices of healing. The man, Usui Mikao

was the first one to be recognized to use the "Chi" or "Ki" energy through these certain types of techniques. He was the founder of this spiritual method but Reiki has roots in the Japanese culture of hand and energy healing. Reiki came to the U.S. as Usui Shiki Ryoh by a woman named Hawayo Takata in the 1920s, who came from Japan to live in Hawaii. At that time the U.S. was not receptive to the Japanese culture and in order to keep the practices alive, she Westernized it to fit the audience. From there it took off in many directions and is still used today all over the world.

Now that you understand the basics of Reiki, you might be asking what will you experience during Reiki?

Experiences during or after a distant Reiki treatment can vary for each person.

You may experience any or none of the following:

  • Feelings of peace, overwhelming love, calmness, and/or relaxation

  • Feeling energetic

  • Feeling lightweight, airy

  • Euphoria (happiness, laughing, and/or positive thinking)

  • Spiritual awareness (visions or understanding)

  • Release of suppressed feelings, emotions, and/or blockages

  • Release of toxins that can trigger sweating and/or excessive thirst

  • What you may experience is not limited to this list.

       Anything you experience is normal.

Some may not experience anything at all right away, this is also normal. You could start noticing a difference the next day, a few days later, or even a week later. Some are more sensitive than others but everyone receives the same healing benefit.

As long as you accept and are open to receiving the Reiki energy being sent to you, the energy can be changed!

A suggested affirmation:

"I accept and I’m open to the energy being sent to me"
